They have been staying at Country Joe in Tsugaike Kogen for more than 20 years. Age ranges from elementary school children to high school students. They ski during the day, and play games at night. (3 nights and 4 days)
High school students act as the leader. Although they are not experienced
in skiing, they are good at making everyone have fun. All young children
who come in the summer and winter have fabulous time with the older high
school students acting as the leaders. Most of these high schoolers were
here at the camp when they were younger.
They are quite distinguished in both playing and learning. Some of the older ones travel by hitch-hiking and camping every year. Girls also go on journeys and campings as well. They all seem to find or learn something valuable from the trips. For the ski trips, sometimes they take kids who just started skiing to the summit on the third day, and no one cries. Young children totally trusts their leaders as their mentors.
High schoolers often skis in costumes, like angles, bunny girls, cooks, and in kendo and judo dogi. They love to do everything to make the younger children have fun and be happy. Young children also keep their leaders on the toes with responsibilities and challenges.
